Conservatives Defending Liberty

People say history repeats itself, well they must be right. The first time around the United States bought Louisiana from the French in 1803. This time Harry Reid is buying Louisiana by giving Senator Mary Landrieu a nice little sum of $100 million, tax payer money, just in time to buy her vote for his and Obama’s sinking health care plan.

You know that a bill is in trouble when they are taking votes on it on a Saturday night. Yesterday they turned off the Capitol switchboard and did not deliver bulk mail. Now even after trying to twist every arm in the world, they still have to resort to outright bribes. Harry Reid slipped in a nice little treat for Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu into the health care bill. a $100 million kick back available only to her state. It was worded as for “states” who were declared federal disaster areas in the last 7 years. Then through a series of twists only Louisiana is qualified to get the money, funny how that happens. Did I forget to mention Senator Landrieu is on the fence for the health care bill?

This is corruption pure and simple. Reid is bribing off Landrieu with tax payer money.  This one move alone demonstrates how low the Democrats have sunk in pursuit of their socialist agenda. No one can justify this. Its an outright attempt to buy votes and worst of all its not even their money. Nevada, Harry Reid is a pathetic excuse for a human being, its about time you get a new United States Senator, don’t you think? One thing is for sure, the new Louisiana Purchase will be much more costly than the first one, health care bill and all.
