Senator Schumer Blames the state of Texas for the Fort Hood Shooting
I find it almost funny but sad that some people can’t stop trying to use anything regardless of how tragic the event was for cheap political purposes. That’s w
hat New York Senator Charles Schumer(D) did a couple days ago. Schumer an avid anti gunner came out with a tasteless and mindless statement, blaming the state of Texas for the shooting at Fort Hood.
Schumer decided it was the state of Texas who was to blame for allowing the Muslim extremist who turned on his fellow soldiers, to buy a gun due to their lax guns laws. No it was not that political correctness had anything to do with it. The fact that the man was running around yelling “Allahu-Akbar” had nothing to do with it. The fact that the CIA and FBI had a files on him had nothing to do with it. The fact that he was reported to the Army and was telling his patients not to fight in the war in support of America, no that had nothing to do with either. It was all the fact that the state of Texas makes it too easy for people to get a gun. How pathetic can you get?
Everyone knows Schumer’s record on gun control, he has no credibility on this. It’s more of Schumer’s attempts to take shots (no pun intended) at lawful gun owners around the country. People who don’t live in his gun hating state of New York know full well what took place. A member of the US Army that was a Muslim decided he had to support his faith against his country and he did. The man had a long record of making outrageous statements, treating his patients poorly and acting like a man who should have been arrested not running around wearing an Army uniform. The main stream media simply wants to give the shooter a pass, call it anything other than Islamic terrorism. We have heard that calling Al-Qaeda isn’t a crime, we have heard that he simply cracked, we have heard that Christians have nuts too. Now Schumer is just picking up and carrying on, he almost can’t help himself. He is a low class excuse for a human being.
All the gun control in the world would not have prevented what took place at Fort Hood. What could have prevented it was officials doing their jobs and running this man to ground before he could commit what is an obvious act of terrorism. But that could only have happened had the people charged with doing this were not afraid to do their jobs because of obvious pressure from above. The fact that we have a United States senator blaming a state, a law, a person or even the time of day, but that same senator can’t bring himself to say the words Islamic terrorist is truly a shame.

I think all the things you’ve mentioned have contributed to the Fort Hood shooting, however I think the Senator has a valid point as well. We should not just label the guy as a Muslim extremist (thats way to easy to do) and instead identify what could have been done to prevent this. When I say that, I mean identifying this situation as a problem early on and helping him.

I would like to bring up a couple things. I recieved a message saying Texas is not at fault nor do they have lax gun laws. This is true, I never believed they did, in a person like Schumer any gun law that does not stop firearms ownership is too lax, that was my piont. Also, yes if someone would have interceeded things would not have turned out as they did, but exactly how could you help him? His views do not allow him to kill fellow Muslims or aid in doing so. The fact that he was in the Army put him in a place where that could happen, the only option would have been to not permit him to enlist in the first place because he is a Muslim. Which I am sure people would not have liked either, its a loose loose. If you stop him from being there its bad, if you let him there its a ticking time bomb, this is not the first time this has happened in the military. It also took place in 2003 during the run up to Iraq. You tell me, how do you help him without some action being taken against him?

HOW TO PREVENT FUTURE NIDAL HASANS
We have read with concern the many signs Major Hasan provided which would indicate an unstable and potentially dangerous frame of mind. Our concern is that those who actually saw and heard the signs and those to whom the signs were reported did not act upon them. From Hasan’s contact with a radical imam, to the initials SoA (Son of Allah) on his business card, to his comment that he was a Muslim first and a soldier second – there is no doubt the signs that he was potentially dangerous were there for all to see.
Furthermore, he was under surveillance by two Terrorist Task Forces, one with Department of Defense oversight and the other with FBI oversight. So why wasn’t he stopped?
The answer is quite simple – The military does not have an objective and culturally neutral system that collects information and evaluates it to determine the degree (or level) of aggression an individual is displaying, nor has it people who have a clear responsibility to observe and report this information within an objective system nor a team who is responsible to evaluate it and respond. The military does not have the AMIS solution and it desperately needs it! Major Hasan has illustrated out vulnerable we are, learn more about the problem and the solution by reading our Blog: http://Blog.AggressionManagement.com
That shouldn’t surprise you since we also have a president who runs around the country blaming the United States of America for everything that’s wrong in this world, and not uttering the words “Islamic terrorist”. Obama and the Democrats called Hasan a “gunman”, with the FBI calling him an “alleged gunman” for crying out loud! Call him what he is…an Islamic terrorist. I agree with everything you say here. Responsible gun owners are not to be feared. It’s the few radicals like Hasan and those obtaining illegal firearms who we need to fear, and the Democrats know this. They prey on that fear and use it to their own advantage. Remember Emanuel’s words about never letting a good crisis go to waste. That’s always been their mantra. The Democrats are running scared and are doing whatever they can to stay in power even if it means fabricating and distorting situations to work to their advantage. There’s more of us than there is of them, and we will all get the last word with a vote against them in 2010 and 2012.
It is never a tired point to mention the fact that if the terrorist, Hasan, was a fervent Christian or a religous Jew, and screamed out any religous statement prior to mowing down 13 innocents, there wouldn’t be enough room in all of cyberspace to accomodate how many references to his religion would be made.
You’re right, “Queen Bee,” this contemptible and cowardly use of the word “gunman,” or calling him an “alleged shooter” is beyond repulsive. I have had it up to here with this latest strain of lethal political correctness.
