It has become clear that several sources in Europe and the Middle East have obtained information that indicates the Russian government has sold in the recent past SS-20 missiles to the Iranians in violation of the INF Treaty. This means two very important things. First, you can’t trust the Russians and second, Obama is clue less about what he did with the missile shield program. It also calls into question what his motive was in the first place.

When withdrawing the missile shield idea from Poland and the Czech Republic the Obama administration justified it by stating that Iran did not have and would not have for the foreseeable future, missiles with a range greater than approximately 1700 miles. This means that only a corner of Southeast Europe could be under threat. The problem here is that those concepts and ideas are wrong. A  retired Russian Major General named Dworkin stated recently that Iran will have missiles with a 4500 mile range very soon. The obvious question is how did he know that? The answer is that the Russians have sold the Iranians SS-20  missiles, with the solid fuel engines and minus the warheads. If you remember it was revealed last week that the Iranians are working on advanced nuclear warhead designs, now it makes sense. Talk about connecting the dots, this one is pretty hard to miss.

What is happening here explains why the French and the Germans are upset with Obama. They want Obama to take a stronger stance toward Russia and Iran. The fact that Russia sold older versions of the SS-20 to Iran in the mid 1990’s and Iran has already tested Russian R-124  and R-216 rocket engines, from the SS-4 and SS-5 missiles, makes this not truly a stunning discovery. Another thing that has come to light is the Russian sales of S-300 anti aircraft missiles to Venezuela, the same missiles the Iranians wanted to purchase. Russia is scheduled delivery of the missiles in 2010/11 and this makes the pipe line to Iran open and waiting on someone to hit the start button.

If you follow this out what we have is Iran with Russian SS-20 missiles, complete minus warheads. Iran was found to be working on advanced nuclear warhead designs, without missiles capable of carrying them they are of no use. Obama’s justification and rational for stopping the missile shield program was either a deliberate lie or an act of complete incompetence, you choose. What is not debatable is the continued sucking up to Russia which has given him absolutely nothing. Further, his idea of “talking” with Iran has resulted in worse than nothing, he has been told flat out no. In front of the world. This man is a novice and dangerous to world peace. He believes his approach is working and in reality what it has done is undermined America’s position in the world. Obama’s “we are all equal” approach is foolish.  The world looks to America as a leader, unfortunately we are not doing much of that these days.
