Conservatives Defending Liberty

After watching the story unfold around the Fort Hood shooting its become pretty clear that this event will change things in the United States for the future as far as I can see. The reaction of Obama speaks volumes to how America is now seeing him not to mention how the active military and veterans view him. His lack of leadership, his political correctness and his lack of understanding what his true role is has damaged him to a large portion of the public, not just Republicans or conservatives, everyone.

The story continues to unfold and the more it does, the worse the Obama administration looks on how it handled it. Leaks on the CIA having intelligence about the shooter trying to contact radical Islamic groups including Al-Qaeda months ago, this intelligence going no where is in itself a scandal. Maybe just maybe if Obama had not demonized the CIA and other intelligence agencies they would be a little more motivated to share information, especially not fearing coming under criticism from the administration. His Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano in the Middle East over the weekend making comments that her greatest fear is an “anti Muslim backlash”. What about her primary responsibility? Protecting the citizens of the United States. The problem here is that this fits with the narrative she has already laid out, remember the law enforcement report outlining what they believed to be the greatest threat as far as domestic terrorism?

Comments coming out of the FBI stating beyond a doubt that this was not an act of terrorism, no question, the problem is that they weren’t even there yet.  Obama follows this up with a statement the next day saying don’t jump to conclusions. Statements being made minutes after the shooting from the administration and Justice Department reflecting that the FBI was on the way there to “prevent further killing”. What are these people doing? We have had a dozen terrorist incidents since Obama came to office, they involve Muslim extremists, yet we are told what? We fear an anti Muslim backlash.The shooter in the Fort Hood case was walking around telling his patients it was wrong to support the military in their wars against Muslims. This man was an officer in the United States Army, this man is guilty of treason, not just murder. If found guilty he should be hung as a traitor. The Army had knowledge of his behavior, they were afraid to come and bring it to any one’s attention because of political correctness. Political correctness just got 13 people killed and 31 injured.

The media is trying to spin this as “he cracked”, he was “tormented” or he was “harassed” about being a Muslim. This man was calling Yemen to speak to Al-Qaeda, what else do you want to know? Sure he snapped, he snapped because he could not see himself going to a war and helping the US military fight against his Muslim brothers. It does not matter that he was or was not working directly with anyone, he was a Muslim extremist who turned on his own, fellow soldiers in the US Army. That is a terrorist, period. Yet Obama just can’t bring himself to say it can he? My question is why? Obama has not even found time to travel to Fort Hood yet, he is going today, he was busy running around Washington selling health care to the house. This is pathetic, the left, the media and the entire Obama administration is trying to cover what is obvious to the American people, the shooter was a terrorist, a Muslim terrorist. The more Obama continues his poor attempt at acting like he some idea of what his true role is as Commander in Chief, the more frustration builds in the American public.

President Obama needs to understand this was not  a “violent act”, it was not a “tragedy”, it was not Columbine, it was an Islamic extremist committing a terrorist act against the United States of America. This was not some “man caused event”, this is part of the War on Terrorism, the war Obama doesn’t seem to think exists. The military takes its cue’s from the civilian leadership,  we are in a whole bunch of trouble.
